Tennessee Archaeology Net is the resource for Tennessee Archaeology with links to State statutes, ethics, and laws relating to Tennessee Archaeology as well as links to publications and much more.
ArchNet covers just about everything that is archaeology throughout the world. They also provide a list of U.S. government agencies responsible for cultural resource management, historic preservation, and archaeology.
Preservationdirectory.com offers resources and research tools for historic preservation and cultural resource management.
Tennessee Preservation Trust is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advocacy of perservation issues in the State of Tennessee.
National Trust for Historic Preservation
The Intermountain Antiquities Computer System (IMACS) was prepared by the University of Utah, the Bureau of Land Management, and the U.S. Forest Service for use with the region's site forms. However, with its focus on historic artifact function and chronology, it is a wonderful tool for archaeologists working anywhere in the U.S.
Diagnostic Artifacts in Maryland is an excellent resource for historic ceramics. From the Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum website.
 
Professional Organizations
 
The Southeastern Archaeological Conference was created in 1938 as a means for archaeologists to share information and establish ceramic typologies and chronologies for the Southeast. The organization has over 1,000 members, convenes every November in a different Southeastern city, and publishes a highly respected regional journal.
The Society for Historical Archaeology was formed in 1967 and focuses on New World archaeology since the Age of Exploration. The Society meets annually throughout the United States and Canada.
The South Central Historical Archeology Conference was founded in 1998. The conference features professional and student papers, as well as workshops. SCHAC is entering its sixth year and Weaver & Associates, LLC. has been there every step of the way.

Museums, Parks, and Universities
 
The University of Memphis' Anthropology Department and their Public Archaeology program.
C.H. Nash Archaeological Museum at Chucalissa Chucalissa is an Indian village located on the south bluffs of the City of Memphis. Chucalissa, which is Choctaw for "abandoned house", is operated by the Anthropology Department of the University of Memphis. Chucalissa is home to Native American Days, an annual Pow Wow, the Choctaw Heritage Festival hosted by the Ripley American Indian Association, stickball games, and a wonderful museum.
The Cobb Institute of Archaeology - Mississippi State University
The Anthropology Department at the University of Southern Mississippi 
Hampson Museum is in Wilson, Arkansas and features Mississippian Period artifacts from Nodena and nearby sites. Just a short drive up I-55 from Memphis.
Parkin State Park in Parkin, Arkansas is another short drive from Memphis.
Arkansas Post was a 17th century French trading post established at the Quapaw village of Osotouy. It is located east of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, approximately 155 miles from Memphis.
Pinson Mounds State Archaeological Park is located near Jackson, Tennessee, and a little more than an hour drive from Memphis.
Shiloh National Military Park
The Pink Palace Family of Museums contains links to the Pink Palace Museum of Memphis, the Magevney House, and the Mallory-Neely House, as well as other local museums and attractions.

The Arkansas Archeological Survey
The University of Alabama operates the Office of Archaeological Resarch. Located within Moundville Park in Tuscaloosa, the ASSF (Alabama State Site File) provides data for both academic research and cultural resource management activities. Mr. Eugene Futato is ASSF Coordinator.
The National Register of Historic Places

The National Park Service features their Archeology and Ethnology Program and lists laws, regulations, guidelines, and codes of ethics related to archaeology, including NAGPRA.
