At Weaver & Associates, Our Goal is to Provide High Quality Services in the Field of Cultural Resource Management for Federal, State and City Agencies, and for Private Developers.

Our Mission is to Interface between the Concerns of Development and Preservation, for the Benefit of Both.     

     Weaver & Associates offers a wide variety of services, including:       

  • All Types of Archaeological Studies, including Reconnaissance Surveys, Phase I Intensive Surveys, Phase II Testing, and Phase III Data Recovery

  • Historical Background Research and Land Use Studies

  • Architectural Surveys and Assessments, including Inventories, HABS/HAER Documentation, and Nominations for the National Register of Historic Places

  • Cemetery Delineation, Relocation, and Restoration

  • The Development of Preservation Plans for Communities and Historic Properties

  • Consultation on Federal and State Compliance Issues, such as Section 104 and Section 106 permits

  • Museum Planning and Exhibit Design, Installation, De-installation, and Relocation

We can also arrange environmental studies, such as wetland delineation and endangered species surveys.

We were licensed in Shelby County, Tennessee in February 1998. The organization became a Limited Liability Company (LLC) on January 1, 1999. Located in the historic Binghamton area of Memphis, our facilities include separate areas for artifact processing and analysis, temporary curation, and report preparation. The laboratory includes all equipment needed to handle any size project. Together, the firm and individual staff members maintain a large library, and have easy access to several regional university libraries.

Over the last seven years, Weaver & Associates has conducted over 100 cultural resource management projects. Our clients include the cities of Memphis and Biloxi, the Tennessee Department of Transportation, the Tennessee Valley Authority, the Soil Conservation Service, the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, and many architectural and engineering firms and independent  developers. We have experience with projects in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee.
